Quality over quantity

Why we exist

Movement is the medium. Learning is the mission.

Movement education is rich, but fragmented. Somatics, martial arts, yoga, dance, physical preparation, voice, and creative practice are often encountered in separate worlds. MSA brings them into one carefully curated academy while preserving what makes each tradition distinct.

More than a catalogue

We help people discover which practices speak to their needs, understand how different approaches relate, and study with educators they can trust. The goal is not to offer everything at once. It is to grow a meaningful field of learning, one excellent teacher and one well-considered program at a time.

Explore / Modalities

A broad movement field, carefully opened.

Begin with a practice that calls to you or with a capacity you want to explore. As the faculty grows, MSA will connect individual offerings into clear, interdisciplinary pathways.

Research / Practice

A living laboratory for embodied inquiry.

The Academy studies how bodies learn, compose, collaborate, remember, adapt, and imagine. Work is carried through practice and documented as scores, essays, conversations, public sharings, and field notes.

Faculty / Facilitators

Experienced educators, selected with care.

MSA is not an open-upload marketplace. Faculty are reviewed for depth of practice, formation or lineage, teaching ability, ethical conduct, and alignment with a shared educational culture.

What we look for

Depth

Substantial personal practice and meaningful professional experience in the field being taught.

Formation

Relevant certification, education, apprenticeship, or lineage according to the practice's own standards.

Teaching

Clear communication, pedagogical skill, responsible adaptation, and genuine attention to learners.

Integrity

Respect for consent, scope, boundaries, attribution, inclusion, and ongoing professional reflection.

Academy library

Documents that make our standards visible.

These public texts form a durable reference for participants, faculty, and collaborators. They will be revisited as the Academy learns and grows.
