About the practice

A clear way into the work.

Leighann Kowalsky's workshop is planned around attentional and relational practices in Contact Improvisation, introducing concepts from the body of work of Nita Little. The study invites participants to move together as one another rather than only with a partner, and to communicate at a somatic level.

The two days will include work in pairs and trios, discussion, laboratory time, and longer-form dance integration. The practice may move through falling, hanging, rising, and floor-based exploration. The workshop is intended for beginner and intermediate practitioners; final times, venue, and registration details are still being prepared.
